Jazz Age Lawn Party

The Jazz Age Lawn Party on Governor's Island, hosted by Michael Arenella and his Dreamland Orchestra, recreates the look and feel of an authentic 1920's lawn party. Beautiful people in vintage clothes picnic on the grounds between the rows of officer houses from yesteryear. There's dancing, games, competitions and cocktails. Bring a picnic, but leave the beer and wine on the mainland. The ferry ride to Governor's Island is free, but in true Prohibition-era style, transporting booze across the harbor is prohibited. If you've never had the pleasure, make time to attend this lovely summer event: July 17 and 18 as well as August 28 and 29, 2010.
